Cricket Darts Rules and Marks
Cricket is not a countdown game. You are racing to close seven numbers, and points only matter while an opponent still has a number open — which is why the highest scorer often loses.
The numbers in play
Only 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and the bullseye count. Everything else on the board is dead — a treble 14 scores nothing at all.
Marks: how a number closes

When points actually count
- Three marks close the number for you.
- Further hits on a number you have closed score its value — but only while at least one opponent still has it open.
- Once everyone has closed it, the number is dead and scores nothing for anybody.
Winning the game
You win by closing all seven numbers AND having at least as many points as every opponent. Close everything while trailing on points and the game continues — you must keep scoring on numbers still open elsewhere, which is the strategic heart of Cricket.
Frequently asked questions
The outer bull counts as one mark and 25 points; the inner bull counts as two marks and 50 points.
Because it is the highest scorer. Closing 20 early lets you pile on points there while the opponent is still forced to spend darts closing it.
